In preparation for the Green Deal in the Autumn the Department of Communities and Local Government has announced that Local Authorities and Green Deal Providers can now access Energy Performance Certificate data in bulk.
The Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) data will be of great interest and the release will allow Local Authorities and Green Deal Providers to assess the market potential for Green Deal in localities. Green Deal Providers can use the data to target their marketing but they will be restricted to direct mail as the method of contact - so no door step selling.
From the 22nd April anyone can access the EPC data on a single property but authorised organisations, including Local Authorities and Green Deal Providers, will be able to access the data in bulk allowing them to map the data and identify key areas for priority.
To access the data in bulk from Landmark, the agency who manage the national Energy Performance Certificate register, an organisation must apply to them direct.
