The Department for Energy and Climate Change has produced a guide on how to become a Green Deal Provider.
DECC say a more detailed guide will be published in the next month or so but this document is quite a good introduction to the subject so is well worth a read. The fact that it is only 9 pages long makes it readily digestible.
The guide is of particular interest to us because of our own plans to set up a Community Interest Company to be a Green Deal Provider. We are currently seeking Local Authority partners to become shareholders in the enterprise. If you are interested in knowing more about our proposal then take a look in the Green Deal section of the website.
The guide has been published on the same day that it was announced that 22 organisations have signed a memorandum of understanding with DECC to become "Green Deal Pioneers". We decided that becoming one of these pioneers was not right for us at the moment but we certainly hope to be in the position soon to join them at the launch of Green Deal in the Autumn.
