The first images of the anticipated redesign of the Energy Performance Certificate have emerged.
As expected, a plug for the Green Deal has been incorporated in the form of a table at the bottom which gives the top three actions a householder can take and whether or not these are eligble for the Green Deal.
On the whole, the new design seems a bit easier to understand than the old one with the focus on the potential savings to be had rather than on the more abstract Energy Efficiency Rating label. The new design will be introduced from April 2012.
Clearly the government saw a role for the Energy Performance Certificate in it's Green Deal plan, but it remains to be seen whether they will have any real impact in influencing consumers to take up energy saving measures or the Green Deal.
